Kevin Bryant, local pharmacist and former chairman of the Anderson County Republican Party, is announcing his intention to seek the Republican nomination for the South Carolina Senate.

With the recent economic downtown, the tax burden on today’s families only emphasizes the need to reform and restructure state government. I am very optimistic about the future of South Carolina, but more spending without fixing the problems will not educate one child or create a single job.

As a pharmacist and businessman, I see fraud and abuse in the state Medicaid system everyday. Cutting waste in all government funding will make necessary programs not only effective, but also affordable. We should not make school teachers, police officers and healthcare providers our last priority while wasteful spending goes unchecked!

Anderson County has greatly benefited from the dedication and leadership

Senator Bob Waldrep has provided in Columbia and I will continue that leadership in future. With much prayer, the support of my family and a great deal of encouragement from many people, I am ready to commit the time and energy to make a difference in our Columbia.
